Vogues, Flames and Cardinal (2) Win Gold Medals Over Weekend

The final weekend of the 2010 Potomac Valley District Qualifying Tournaments ("DQT") were held on May 22-23. Over the weekend, the following gold medals were earned.
- 14-Under: Cardinal
- 15-Under D-I: Maryland Flames
- 15-Under D-II: Cardinal
- 16-Under: Potomac Valley Vogues-Blue
The chart below shows the teams that have medaled in their respective age groups and divisions for the DQTs to date. The score of the championship game is noted in each age group and division, with the bronze medalist noted as well.

How Many Teams Qualify for D-I, D-II and D-III Nationals from Each Age Group

The number of teams that qualify for Division I, Division II or Division III Nationals depends on teams place at Districts and whether they have qualified at a Super Regional Tournament.

In addition to being a great resource for schedules, scores and standings, the Potomac Valley AAU Girls’ Basketball website includes other cool features that make it easy to follow your current team -- this year and from last year.
This week, the folllowing two website functions are being featured:
- Club pages. If you go to a club page, there’s a link to all the teams entered in the tournament. Click here to see the Classics’ Club homepage.
- Team pages. Teams that played in the 2008 and 2009 DQTs have carryover data to this year. For instance, click here to see Coach Chapman’s defending 13U Maryland United Lady Ballers team, the defending 12U Division II National Champions and see the links to their 2008 and 2009 DQT results.

The 2010 Potomac Valley District Qualifying Tournaments ("DQTs") take place during a five-week window period from April 23-May 24, 2010. Registration closed on April 14 at which time the "draw" was held and teams were assigned to pools for their respective age groups.
94 Potomac Valley teams will compete in 2010 DQTs, 62 in Division I and 32 in Division II. Click here to download the Excel file with the 2010 DQT pools for each age group and division.
DQT Registration Information and Requirements Now Available

The 2010 Potomac Valley District Qualifying Tournaments ("DQTs") take place during a five-week window period from April 23-May 24, 2010 and registration for the DQTs are due on Wednesday, April 14 at the PV GBC meeting at Falls Church High School.
