The source of many of the key administrative and other rules for AAU Girls’ Basketball is the AAU Girls’ Basketball Handbook.

Note:  In prior years, the Handbook has been revised right up until the beginning of National Championship Tournaments; the date of the most recent revised version has not been included in revised drafts.  Therefore, be sure and check the National webiste for the most recent version of a rule if a team or club is relying on a particular rules interpretation. 

For the upcoming 2010 AAU season, AAU Girls’ Basketball has made a number of significant changes, including, but not limited to:

• Division I, II and III Nationals are at the same time and location for all age groups
• New criteria for advancing to Nationals based on how teams place:
  • At the District Qualifying Tournament ("DQT"); and/or
  • At a Super Regional Tournament ("SRT")
• Other rules changes including:  no limits on two-digit jersey numbers, new pick-up player rules, change to fouling out after 6th foul for NCAA certified events
• And more changes
