Overview of Potmac Valley AAU Girls' Basketball Disciplinary Actions Page
This page of the Potomac Valley AAU Girls’ Basketball website is to include disciplinary actions taken by the Girls’ Basketball Sport Committee, the Potomac Valley District Committee, or the AAU National Board of Review and Board of Appeals against member clubs and/or individual members (players and coaches) for violations of AAU Bylaws, AAU Code, and/or the AAU Girls’ Basketball Code of Ethics for coaches and athletes.
While the general objective of the Potomac Valley AAU Girls’ Basketball website is to support and promote the sport of basketball for our members, it is also important for members and potential members to be informed of significant disiplinary actions taken by either the Girls’ Basketball Sport Committee, the Potomac Valley District Committee, or the AAU National Board of Review and Board of Appeals against their members, including players and coaches.
AAU National Board of Review Upholds Disqualification of a Fairfax Stars 14-Under Team from 2008 DQT
Ruling is Final; All Appeals Exhausted
On September 10, the AAU National Board of Review upheld the conclusions of the Potomac Valley Girls’ Basketball Committee to disqualify one of the two Fairfax Stars 14-Under Division I teams from the 2008 DQTs for competing with more that the maximum three out of district players allowed by rule.

AAU National Board of Review Upholds Disqualification of a Fairfax Stars 16-Under Team from 2007 DQT
Club Prohibited From Hosting 2008 DQTs
The Fairfax Stars 16U girls team was disqualified from the regional qualifiers and national AAU tournament in the spring of 2007 because there was an ineligible player from Pennsylvania on the team. The Fairfax Stars appealed this decision on June 23, 2007, and the AAU National Board of Review upheld the District Committee’s decision on June 29, 2007.
After the disqualification was upheld, the PVAAU GBB Committee voted 8-1 in August 2007 to prohibit the Fairfax Stars from hosting any 2008 DQTs.
