 The 2008 District Qualifying Tournaments ("DQTs") were held in April-May 2008. This is the homepage for Archives for all the action from the 2008 DQTs.

2008 Age Determination Date of July 1 is "One and Done"

Prior to 2008, the age groups for AAU Girls’ basketball, including the Potomac Valley AAU DQTs, was based on a January 1 Age Determination Date ("ADD"). 2007 was the final year of the January 1 ADD.
For 2008, the ADD was July 1. For the 2009 season, the ADD has been changed again to a player’s age on December 31, but with unlimited grade exceptions. Click here for details.
Therefore, the applicable ADD for the 2007, 2008 and 2009 seasons are as follows:
. 2007: Player’s age as of December 31, 2006
. 2008: Player’s age as of June 30, 2007
. 2009: Player’s age as of December 31, 2008, but with grade exceptions

48 Medals Earned at 2008 Districts by 21 Different Potomac Valley AAU Clubs
The 2008 District Qualifying Tournaments ("DQTs") came to a close on Sunday, May 18, 2008. In total, 48 medals were earned by 21 different Potomac Valley AAU clubs.
The top 3 clubs in terms of total medals were:

2nd: 8-Potomac Valley Vogues
3rd: 7-Fairfax Stars

2009 PV Teams Qualified for D-I Nationals at SRTs

With the Potomac Valley DQTs starting in mid-April, Potomac Valley teams have already started qualifying for D-I Nationals at one of the Super Regional Tournaments ("SRTs") in the Mid-Atlantic area.

14U Division I Medal Round Schedule Update

The schedule for the 14U Division I Medal Round has been updated. The schedule change was necessary due to the disqualification of a team by the Potomac Valley Girls' Basketball Committee for a violation of AAU Girls' Basketball team roster rules.
The three pool play games played by the disqualified team have been recorded as 0-13 losses by forfeit and the standings and teams advancing to the Medal Round have been adjusted accordingly.
The game times and locations have not changed, but the schedule has changed as a result of the change in participating teams and their respective seeds in the Medal Round.
